do you provide a wedding co-ordinator on the day?

Yes, for all our package wedding bookings our team will be on hand to ensure your day runs seamlessly. In addition to that, you have a dedicated Wedding Planning Team available for any support you require 7-days a week in the lead up to your big day.

For dry hire booking, wedding co-ordination should be arranged separately however, we can help with recommendations if you need!

do you have recommended suppliers?

Yes, you can find our carefully selected Harper Partners here. Should you prefer to source external suppliers for your day, you’re more than welcome to do so. Please note that we provide all food and drink for our package weddings.

are we able to have our civil ceremony at the venue?

Yes! All our venues are licensed for civil ceremonies (inside and outside).

do you allow confetti?

You’re very welcome to bring confetti on your special day and we kindly ask for this to be light in colour and bio-degradable please.

do you allow fireworks and sparklers?

Botleys Mansion: Unfortunately, fireworks are not permitted, but a sparkler shot by the fountain at the end of the evening is a must!

Cain Manor: Sadly, due to the nearby neighbours, we are unable to allow fireworks however, sparklers are a great way to end the evening and you’re very welcome to have these!

Notley Abbey: Both are permitted! The nearby farm needs to be notified of a fireworks display, but this is something the Wedding Planning Team will do for you.

do you have accommodation?

Botleys Mansion: Yes! As well as the complimentary Botleys Suite for our newlyweds there are 11 further bedrooms at the venue for guests.

Cain Manor: Yes! There are 11 bedrooms in total including our spacious Cain Suite for the couple (complimentary) and a family room too.

are there any restrictions on decorations we can use?

We kindly ask that no damage is caused during install/de-rig of the decorations on your special day. Some decorations (fairy light canopies and draping) must be sourced by a Harper Partner. Other décor may require the supplier to share insurance documents with us ahead of the big day, but the team will let you know if anything is required. Real candles are permitted at our venues, and we ask for them to be safely displayed in a holder/lantern/vase.

how do we secure a date?

Once visited (in person or virtually), you are welcome to reserve your chosen date for 10 days with a refundable £500 deposit. This enables you time to enquire about availability with the Registrar or church as well as read through our T&Cs before confirming your booking. At the end of the 10-day holding period, a further £1,000 confirmation deposit is due to confirm the date. The full amount of £1,500 is then deducted from your balance.

what payment plan should we expect for our day?

Once your booking has been confirmed, the wedding balance is split into monthly instalments beginning immediately and finishing one month before the big day. A final balance is then due 10-days before the wedding (after your online planner locks 2-weeks before the big day) which also includes the charge for accommodation and a security deposit. Subject to no major damage being caused during your exclusive 24-hour hire period, the security deposit will be returned to you within 21 days of your event.

when do you require final details from us?

We like to give our couples as much time as possible to finalise the plans for the big day therefore, we don’t need any final details from you until 2-weeks before the wedding. This is when your online planner locks and details will be shared with the relevant teams to ensure your day runs without a hitch. If you do have any updates for us after this time, please communicate them as soon as possible and we will do everything we can to accommodate changes.

can we give our guests a choice of food to choose from?

We include two silver options per course within our wedding package – a principal option which is usually meat or fish, and a vegetarian/vegan alternative. You are, of course, welcome to upgrade to gold/platinum dishes, offer three main course option or even add another course to the wedding breakfast if you’d like and this would incur additional fees. We recommend that you ask your guests to confirm their dietary requirements when sending RSVPs so that you can pre-order the most suitable menu for them ahead of the big day.

can our guests pay directly for their room?

Yes! As the big day approaches, we’ll share further details of how this works. You can then share the information with anyone you’d like to pay us for their room directly. We request that all bedroom payments are made before your final balance is due (10-days before the wedding) and any outstanding bedroom payments at this time will form part of your final balance.

do you allow external caterers?

We have a fantastic team of in-house chefs and encourage couples to book our wedding package to ensure a stress-free day knowing everything is planned and executed within the Harper Weddings team. We do, however, welcome dry hire bookings on select dates where an external caterer can be used.

do we have a menu tasting before the wedding?

Yes! You’ll be invited to a Tasting Experience in the lead up to your special day – an intimate date night where you get to try a range of dishes and drinks from our menu. After being welcomed with fizz and canapés, sit down to an indulgent menu and wine tasting, topped off with a cocktail tower before you head home. You may also find a small selection of Harper Partners around to chat with too!
