What are you expecting see more mainstream/more common in the next year or two?
Flowers trend just like fashion (Sarah’s former career) you can have classic looks that never go out of style, modern aesthetics that feel fresh, or trendy arrangements that feel so fresh + new that we see them with celebrities/influencers first, then they make their way down into mainstream.
The best advice I (Sarah) was ever given in the fashion industry, is your style fits into every season and that might mean you’re more trendy in one era than another but you’ll never regret staying true to your own person likes, dislikes, and those things you’re obsessed with.
I encourage couples to use this logic – you will always love your wedding flowers if it feels true to you as a couple, right now in this moment. However, I love working with colour because it brings that additional joyful mode to the atmosphere of the day!
If you were getting married, what would be your floral must-haves?
My personal must haves (apart from the essential wedding flowers) would be:
– one to two large installations
– dressing up those special people in your life (corsages, buttonholes, bouquets, dog collars
– FRESH confetti.
One to two large installations because when again in your life will you be able take an abundance of photos next to your own, personal flower arch or elaborate mantle piece?!
Adorn your most loved people with a flower or two because it will make them feel so appreciated and special against all the other people there – everyone loves to feel important.
Fresh confetti makes for gorgeous photos of the newly weds and doing it with fresh petals will guarantee that you won’t be finding confetti everywhere for days – this is my warning against dried confetti!
