The Proposal

Phillippa and James both live in Dubai and met via the dating app Tinder. After falling in love and realising that they wanted to be together forever, James decided to secretly go out and buy the engagement ring that Phillippa had pointed out several months earlier. Much to her surprise, when the couple were holidaying in Venice, James bent down on one knee whilst on a gondola and asked Phillippa to marry him right there on the Grand Canal. Phillippa of course said yes and the couple travelled on to Florence to celebrate their engagement.

Their visit to Cain Manor was everything that Phillippa and James could have dreamt for and more; they were absolutely delighted with their choice. The beautiful setting, green surroundings, vast landscape and fabulous architecture of the building were truly stunning and was the ultimate setting for their country house wedding.

Phillippa and James found Harper’s online wedding planner super helpful, seeing as they were techinically planning their wedding from abroad. They found it easy to communicate with the Wedding Planning Management team and they felt confident that their wedding would go without a hitch when it came to the actual day.

The Dress

It didn’t take Phillippa long to find ‘the one’ when it came to her wedding dress search. In fact, she fell in love with the very first dress that she tried on. The fabulous, A-line design by Pronovias was adorned with delicate lace and crystals and featured an elegant V at the front and a plunging V at the back. The bride-to-be fell in love with the shape, the beautiful lace and the elegant sparkle of the crystals. The gown had incredible movement and fitted Phillippa perfectly.

The Big Day

The couple said their vows in front of 71 guests. A vintage country theme with subtle shades of pink and cream was apparent throughout the day. The chairs lining the aisle had been decorated with beautiful floral arrangements featuring the same flowers that the bride carried in her bouquet.

Reception tables in The Music Room had been decorated with tall floral displays placed on mirrors with tea light candles to add that touch of sparkle. The table names were mounted on handmade cork stands and each glass had a paper lace hummingbird resting on the lip.

For their wedding cake, the couple ordered a trio of simple, white iced cakes from M&S but had them decorated with a dusty pink ribbon and some hand-tied silk flowers which sat in clusters between each tier. The couple cut through their cake before performing a pre-rehearsed, choreographed ballroom style dance to L.O.V.E by Nat King Cole.
