A Chinese Tea ceremony at Botleys Mansion, Surrey

Yena and Ken celebrated their June wedding at Botleys Mansion, choosing the Surrey estate for its sense of space, light and privacy. With exclusive use of the house and gardens, their wedding day unfolded from a ceremony in the orangery (Atrium) to drinks on the mansion lawns and an evening reception under grand chandeliers.

Traditional decorative elements were stylistically placed around the house, hinting to Yena and Ken’s heritage without feeling forced or out of place. The couple hosted a Chinese tea ceremony in the mansions Morning Room in front of loved ones.

After a quick change of attire, the civil ceremony took place in the Atrium, one of Botleys Mansion’s most distinctive spaces. Filled with natural light from its glass ceiling and full-length windows, the room was decorated with white draping, softened by pale blue and white florals that added a pop of colour. Surrounded by friends and family, Yena and Ken stood together beneath the high ceiling as they exchanged their precious vows. The perfect setting for their wedding ceremony that felt intimate, without being small.

After the civil ceremony, guests stepped outside around the fountain for reception drinks. With the house behind them and open green space ahead, this part of the day encouraged people to relax and move around freely, making use of the mansion grounds and having the venue entirely to themselves.

Photography took place throughout the house and gardens, making use of the wide variety of backdrops Botleys Mansion offers. From portraits taken on the lawns to quieter moments captured indoors, the images reflected the joy and atmosphere of the day.

As guests returned inside, the atmosphere shifted for the wedding breakfast. The top table and nine round tables were set beneath the Atrium chandeliers and draping. The wedding tables were dressed with touches of blue, from taper candles, to napkins to goblet glasses and striking floral pillar centrepieces.

The wedding breakfast was followed by speeches that mixed emotion with humour, before the evening celebration began. Music filled the room, and the space quickly transformed into a lively setting for dancing and conversation. The first dance marked the start of the evening party, with guests joining Yena and Ken on the floor soon after.

Yena and Ken’s wedding day reflected their approach throughout — thoughtful, personal and well balanced. Botleys Mansion provided the privacy, scale and adaptability needed to support each part of their special day, from a light-filled ceremony to an evening celebration that lasted well into the night.
