Ceremonies & receptions

Where to choose? The Green Room: intimate, undeniably romantic. The Atrium: showier perhaps, bathed in the light of a soaring glass roof (with a sweeping staircase to descend). Or the gardens, with the house a fetching backdrop. The Library and Morning Room are also yours to enjoy. Let’s take a tour…

On the piano nobile (the house’s raised ground floor), The Green Room hosts up to 131 guests. In the light of a summer afternoon, its soft, pastel hues take on a certain ethereal quality. With a striking centrepiece chandelier and intricately carved ceilings, the acoustics here are second-to-none, making it the perfect setting for a string quartet.

A more contemporary space, flooded with light by day, a magical spectacle by night, The Atrium hosts up to 288 seated guests. There’s nothing quite like the head-turning moment you begin your descent of the central staircase, into a sea of admiring smiles. Yes, you do look a million dollars.

The double doors in the Temple Wing of The Atrium lead out to an aisle pathway through the Temple Garden. With guests seated either side, it’s ideal for an al fresco ceremony in the sunshine. Equally enchanting, the Mansion Lawn is now licensed for ceremonies, with a pretty gazebo the centrepiece.

Rings on fingers, confetti on shoulders, it’s time to celebrate. At Botleys Mansion, this means bottomless Prosecco and Pimm’s, served with perfectly paired canapés as your guests gather around the fountain to admire the view. For winter weddings, the celebrations unfold with drinks around the grand piano, and in the rarefied settings of The Morning Room and Library. Sink into a velvet sofa and soak up the Period Drama elegance.

If you simply must invite everyone (and why not?), you’ll be reassured to know The Atrium comfortably hosts up to 500 guests for an evening reception. It’ll be quite the party. You might like to keep the wings closed during your wedding breakfast, then open to reveal the evening’s entertainment for a seamless transition from the last petit fours to the first dance (your DJ will thank you).
