Botleys Mansion is a fantastic wedding venue for Londoners wanting the “country estate” experience but guests able to easily travel home after the event. We ended up renting the venue for the Friday – Sunday and the staff, food, house and grounds were top notch. I’m always hesitant about wedding food but the food was superb all weekend and Botleys are definitely “feeders”! Nobody went hungry and the portion sizes were massive. Botleys changed their policy to allow dogs at the venue and our golden retriever was able to join us which was very special. Botleys were fantastic from the initial meeting through the planning and to the wedding day. Nobody batted an eyelid with any of our requests and made us feel comfortable from the minute we stepped foot in the house. We were renovating our house while planning the wedding and Botleys took all of the stress out of planning the wedding. I couldn’t recommend Botleys more!

From the first time viewing the venue right up to the final goodbyes the morning after, Cain Manor were amazing.
Starting with Dean, he was a huge reason as to why we chose Cain Manor. He showed us around on the first viewing; asking us how we envisioned our day, painting a picture for us, and allowing us to see ourselves in the space. The team who helped us before the day (Megan and Ann) were very fast with responses and nothing was too much or forgotten about. Speaking to them and using the online planner was seamless I can’t imagine planning a wedding without their help or the planner! On the day I can’t explain how smoothly everything went, and if it didn’t, I was unaware as they dealt with everything so professionally and smoothly. Everyone was wonderful, but a special mention must go to Freya, Jane, and Toby who were impeccable. They really made us feel like the only people in the world. The venue itself is beautiful, and the food is still being raved about. On the 1st of September, Cain Manor was the happiest place in the world and I want to thank the staff for being able to make that happen.

To all at Cain Manor, thank you from the bottom of my heart for making my daughter and husband’s wedding day the most amazing day ever. Robyn & Joe got married on Friday 1st September and from the moment we arrived and were met by Freya, to the moment she and Jane said good bye to us the following morning, the whole event was beyond what we could have imagined.
The waiting/service staff were impeccable, Toby our waiter couldn’t do enough for us, the food was outstanding! The bar staff and housekeeping staff were fabulous. I honestly can’t thank you enough. The team were there without intruding. Seamless!
As for the venue and location…magical!

We knew Notley Abbey was the perfect choice for us as soon as we came up the drive! Ashley (our planner) and the team were great keeping us organised and answering any questions promptly, so I felt quite relaxed in the run up to the day. On the day itself, all the staff were brilliant (special mention to Gemma!) from unloading the car when we first arrived to making sure my veil didn’t catch on anything going down the aisle to the delicious breakfast the next morning! I couldn’t fault anything and would highly recommend Notley to other couples.

Notley Abbey was the perfect wedding venue for our June 2023 wedding! The entire process was completely stress free. Our allocated wedding planner responded to any (and every!) question and query we had in detail and promptly. The day ran so smoothly, with the entire team putting in an incredible amount of hard work and effort to ensure it all seemed effortless and perfect! The venue is also perfect regardless of the weather – we had both rain and shine and it was absolutely fine on the day. The grounds are stunning, the food was delicious, the bridal breakfast was amazing! Everything was perfect, I would 100% recommend this venue. I only wish I could do it all over again.

I think it would best be summed up by saying the Notley team all seem to love what they do and that love creates very special moments for their guests. From before the big day, Ashley and the organising team were incredible. From helping us with any queries and guiding us through the planner (which is amazing by the way), to last minute change requests that you quickly resolved, and accommodating some of our more obscure requirements like my non-alcoholic wine.

Throughout the day; everything ran so smoothly and to schedule, and it was all thanks to them. They made us feel so relaxed, made sure we were in the right place at the right time; and nothing was too much trouble – despite being very busy they were always calm, positive and happy.
Overall, we had a great day – and Harper staff are a large part of this success. The level of hospitality offered by Harper staff really is something to be proud of, and is some of the best we have experienced. Cain Manor is an exceptional venue with exceptional staff. Dear Ann, Dan and the Harper team,Oli and I would like to say a massive thank you for all your help with our wedding on Saturday and the planning on the build up to it. We thought the messaging system was great. Thank you for all the quick responses. It really helped with the planning process. Thank you for your help with coordinating everything on the morning of the wedding. Maxine was great at keeping me up to date with what was going on downstairs and keeping me on schedule. It enabled me to focus on getting ready and spending a bit of time with family and bridesmaids before the ceremony which was really nice. Thanks to Sam and the rest of the staff for looking after me throughout the evening. Everyone had a great time and I have had so many messages from guests saying how much they enjoyed it and loved the venue.

As we ease ourselves into a new year, Jim and I wanted to thank you all for what was indeed a wedding to remember.
From the outset, you have all been the most wonderful team ( the emphasis on team) to work with. Memories of our Daughter Kate’s wedding on the 3rd November 2017 set the bar very high for you all but from the moment we met Maddie at Cain Manor, and then again at Notley, we were ever thankful that Wasing Park blew us out!

Our wedding day itself was perfect. The venue looked stunning, we had so many compliments from our guests and we were both very well looked after by Lisa, Barbara, Jess & Uschi throughout the day. Everything went seamlessly, we couldn’t have asked for more.

The actual day just ran so smoothly and I had to do nothing on the day as it was all taken care of. From placing the place cards on tables and taking my veil to my room after the ceremony! The food and drinks were sublime and my guests said it was the best wedding food they have ever had! They also commented how wonderful the servers and bar staff were! You of course pay a premium for Botleys but you get what you pay for! Would recommend to anyone and thank you for making our special day so wonderful!

Our wedding day at Notley was amazing. The Harper team looked after us superbly and nothing was too much trouble. On the day Ian and Gemma ensured the day ran beautifully. We would like to also thank Annette who was a superstar by being incredibly flexible and helpful during the set up of the day. The little touch of offering and making orange bows from our left over ribbon to put on the seating plan cards was above and beyond. We would also like to thank the support team and particularly Maddie who accommodated all of the changes and requests as the big day approached. The day was absolutely flawless, the waiting staff, bar staff and DJ were brilliant, and everybody was raving about the food and

It was everything we could and would have wished for. All we could say after was let’s do it all again because it just went too quickly. First of all, we were conscious, through Jennifer, of how wonderfully supportive you and your team have been and how positive you have been towards their having the type of wedding they always hoped for. You were consistently constructive in working through all the little impediments which recent restrictions threw up. Nothing became a problem.
Second, the quality of your staff, both front of stalls and backstage, your facilities and your catering, and your management team, is simply outstanding. The service we received, the attention from staff who were there but not intrusive, made the evening. As for the food, all agreed, excellent. The table staff, (forgive me if that is not the correct terminology,) were quiet and so efficient. Breakfast – just what was required.
Just a quick note to say we had an amazing day. The staff were absolutely fantastic, both Dean and Dan on the day made it run so smoothly!

As soon as we saw Botleys Mansion, we knew this was the venue we wanted for our wedding. Starting at the bottom of the sweeping drive, working its way through the stunning surroundings, up to the double staircases at the front entrance, to the Green Room and finally to the conservatory – everything about the venue definitely has the wow factor. The grandeur of the exterior combined with the elegant, well looked after, modern interior (which retains classic touches) really makes for a truly stunning venue. The planners were great to deal with in the lead up, always there for help and advice throughout. The team on the day were exceptional! Big shout out to Dan who ensured our day ran without a hitch. All in all, the team went out of their way to ensure our day was perfect and we can’t thank them enough. Especially coupled with the beautiful food, cocktails and wine. All in all a 10/10 experience.

Everyone we dealt with during our time at Cain Manor was excellent, and in particular Dean and Emma – nothing was too much trouble. Thanks to the online planner we were able to provide all our instructions ahead of time and then after leaving our extra decorations with the team were able to relax ahead of our big day. Everything we’d requested was carried out to the letter by the team, and the service was faultless throughout. As well as the appearance of the venue many of our guests also complimented the food – it’s amongst some of the best we’ve had, and as well as the beautiful surroundings made our day memorable. They do say people remember what they eat at a wedding and I think us and our guests certainly will! Whilst this isn’t a cheap venue to hire in my opinion you get what you pay for, and Cain Manor was worth every penny. We’d do it all again tomorrow if we could…. Thank you again for an amazing day!

Our wedding was held at Cain Manor on 9th July 2021. I can honestly say it was the best day of my life in the most beautiful venue. The wedding planning team were second to none in the run up to the big day answering a myriad of questions with such efficiency and speed. Then the staff on the day surpassed all our expectations. From Dean and Antonio, the managers, to Emma who just checked in on my every need throughout the day. And as for the food, it is top end restaurant quality and all our guests commented on it. The venue itself could not be a more beautiful setting and its exclusivity just makes you feel like you are at home with your nearest and dearest. It is so intimate, discreet and magical. Like all brides, I had huge expecations for the day and I wouldn’t change a thing. Says it all.

Notley Abbey takes no introduction as an incredibly breath-taking venue. The driveway is literally to die for and the historic property with modern touches is every bride’s dream. What the pictures don’t tell you however is how incredible the staff are at Notley and how they are the true selling point to this venue. From the first time we viewed the venue right up to our big day the staff at Notley were absolutely flawless and they held our hands throughout the whole process making sure that we were stress free at all times. Everyone told me before the wedding not to be disappointed is something goes wrong as nobody will notice on the day. I can honestly say that not a single detail was out of place and that was totally down to the staff at Notley.
Saturday surpassed all our expectations and was literally the best day ever. Kieran and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we couldn’t have asked or wanted anything more. The staff on the day were so attentive, professional and friendly and were always walking around with a smile on their faces. Our guests commented on how wonderful the staff were and you guys really did smash it.

Hi Ann, Thank you SO much for your help planning the wedding and reminding us of all the things we had to do. We had the perfect day, and the staff on the day were amazing at sorting out the hiccups. They were so flexible and accommodating and efficient, it was much more than I could have hoped for! The guests all had a great time, as did we. Also compliments to the chef as everyone raved about the food, particularly the lamb and dessert! The venue looked amazing, (even in the rain) and all the guests loved it.

It makes so much sense to manage the organisation through a transparent platform that both sides always have access to – it removed the need for a lot of questions and clarifications and was very easy to use. I just wanted to say a big thank your team who were present on Jessica and Sam’s wedding day. The wedding day was brilliant, and we just wanted to say that the Harper staff were fantastic. When we arrived the wedding party was a bit stressed, but the actions of the staff and in particular the wedding managers calmed us right down and made us all feel so supported and worry free all day. Everything was just taken care of and made to feel so simple! And it wasn’t just the staff, the food and drink were amazing – we wish we could come back and have the canapés again – we just loved the arancini! And the venue itself was just beautiful and perfect – even in the rain!

From start to finish we received first class service from all involved. Jennifer was brilliant when responding to our questions and helping plan our day. Dean was very helpful when we went for our food tasting and Siena couldn’t have been more professional, fantastic and nothing was too much trouble for her and the team on our day. It was also a nice touch that John introduced himself in the evening if we needed him. Not only was the venue the perfect setting but all of the staff from the waiting staff, grounds men and anyone behind the scenes really all played such an important part in making everything run like clockwork.

My daughter Gabrielle’s wedding at Cain Manor on Saturday was simply fantastic and I can’t thank your brilliant staff enough for what they did to make it such a special day. It is extremely rare these days to get a service that can only be described as faultless. Siena and her assistant who were masterminding the operation on Saturday were a delight to work with. We had met with Dean on previous visits – and also saw him briefly on Sunday again please thank Dean for making our visits so enjoyable. From the moment we arrived on Saturday your staff were waiting at the front door to greet us and show us to our rooms. This immediately created a “feel good factor”.
We can not thank you enough for how smoothly our day ran – it was seamless. You exceeded our expectations and every single member of your staff team remained professional at all times. You are so kind and made me feel that nothing was too much to ask (not that I had to ask much as it went exactly as planned). It certainly was worth every effort put it and I can see why your price points are higher than other’s I’ve looked at. You are on another level, I felt very special.

Ann was super lovely, patient and professional throughout the whole planning process and the online system (although I’m not very techy) was easy to use and so thorough. On the day Anica and Georgia totally looked after us and with all my gittery excitement I felt like I was in safe hands! Their organisational skills were impeccable! We should also mention the lovely reception staff and we enjoyed watching their synchronised serving! When the evening manager took over, the day continued with a relaxed and fun vibe right through to the nightcap for the staying guests. Overall we were honestly so impressed with the organisation and professionalism of the team, delivered in an understated, non interfering way! The Harper Team really were a big part of why the day went so well.

Hi Ann. We just wanted to say a huge thank you to you and all the team who made our day such a special success. We are so pleased with how the day went, our guests were completely blown away and everyone told us it was the best Wedding they had ever been to. The sun was beaming down on us and all of our guests the entire day and we couldn’t have asked for anything more. We can’t thank you enough.
We wanted to drop you a note to say thank you so much for everything that you and the team did for our day on Friday. We thought it would be great but it exceeded our wildest dreams. We had the best day. The number of compliments we’ve got from people on how beautiful the venue was and how great the food was have been too many to count! Thank you so much for such a great day. We wish to write to you to say a big thank you for ensuring our wedding day went so smoothly. We had a fab memorable day and the the house and staff were all part of that.
Special thanks to Emma for having to deal with all my emails timely; to the two Sarah’s (especially evening Sarah for handling the drag DJ with a great sense of humour); and lastly Guy, who was there ensuring all was set up and coming to the rescue in fixing the button holes. The guests all commented on how amazing the house looked and how tentative the staff were during the wedding reception.
We Just wanted to say a big thank you to you all for helping us achieve the best day of our lives. The day was amazing and everything that we could have asked for. The support and help we received from the staff in the lead up to and on the day was exceptional, and we would like to say a special thank you to Rachel who was the manager on the day and Maddie for her help in the planning process. We are still on cloud 9 following the perfect day on Friday. Our wedding was everything we could have wanted and more – partly due to our friends, family (and the fantastic weather!) and partly due to the exceptional service Botleys staff provided on the day. They judged everything extremely well, there was never an empty glass or a lull in proceedings. Our guests were very happy and we were too. Special mention should go to the chefs – the meal was even better that at the tasting day! Thank you again for all your help, we only wish we could have slowed the day down and made it last longer, it went by in a flash.
We had an absolutely amazing day and are so grateful to everybody there as it all went so smoothly, professionally and thoughtfully. We particularly wanted to thank Sarah as she was awesome on the day – really really helpful and so many people commented to us about her. The venue itself is gorgeous and makes the whole day really special – lots of people say it’s the best venue they’ve been to. The food was delicious – from the canapés to the wedding breakfast, the bacon butties and the breakfast the next morning.
Hi Maddie, I just want to say a massive thank you for all your help planning our wedding! It was honestly a dream day for the both of us and we loved it.
We had the most amazing day and look back on our day with the happiest of memories. Our wedding planner Aly was amazing from start to finish and a big shout out to Guy. We met him on our very first visit to Botleys Mansion and he was there for every one of our tours, meetings, tasting and on our wedding day.

We just wanted to drop a quick note to say thank you for a wonderful day yesterday. Everything was really painless and enjoyable and all the staff were eager to help whenever they could. Could you also pass on compliments to the chef as the food (the main in particular) received quite a number of rave reviews during the evening.
Please pass on our sincerest gratitude to all the waiting and bar staff that worked on our day, all of whom performed their duties to the very highest level of professionalism. Everyone commented on how stunning the venue was, which was framed beautifully by the very pleasant weather (we were very lucky in that department), and how great the day was overall. I should also give a special mention to the chefs and catering. The food was good on our taster/testing sessions, but was utterly sublime on the day itself. The lamb was absolutely perfect, the starter great, and the desserts – considerably larger than anticipated – went down superbly.

We literally had the best day ever! All of your help, effort and knowledge over the last 18 months has been outstanding, your staff on the day were incredible, they knew exactly what was happening minute by minute and made the day go so smoothly! Please can you pass on our hugest thanks to Rachel and Guy, they were absolutely brilliant, I can’t fault them at all, they had totally memorised our 9-page wedding call sheet document and knew it better than we did!

Every detail was thought of and catered for and we are grateful that everything was done to the highest standard. All of our guests were extremely impressed with how everything was catered for and the quality of the food and service by your team. Kindly thank all the members of staff that were on duty that day, especially The Master of Ceremony/event planner Guy, he was brilliant. We had a few particular guests, the fact that they all were complimentary is a testimony in itself.
