When should a couple book you?

In all honesty – as early as possible! Most of our couples book in from a year to six months in advance. With lots of moving parts, weddings can involve a lot of admin, so for peace of mind and security, the sooner you book with us the sooner you can feel relaxed that we’ve got your production services covered. Our friendly and dedicated team will take the weight off of your shoulders from the moment you make your booking to the final goodnight of your wedding day!

Do you come out to see the venue?

All three Harper Wedding venues feel like second homes to us: as well as the many weddings we produce across Notley Abbey, Botley’s Mansion and Cain Manor, we also regularly attend their fabulous Open Houses where we meet recently engaged brides and grooms. We know the venues inch from inch, and will happily recommend which of our services we think will work best for your wedding with venue in mind.

What would be your top tips for couples considering venue enhancement?

Lighting is everything! Often lighting can be overlooked: our DJ Packages and Photo Booths are naturally popular, but lighting can completely elevate your venue look. From enhancing venue architecture with up-lighting to illuminating your table centrepieces, you can take your wedding photographs to the next level.

What are you expecting see more mainstream/more common in the next year or two?

The beauty of our service is that if we don’t have it, we can make it! With our own wood-cutting machine, we created our own range of LED letters. This allows us to keep up with the ever-changing trends in the Wedding Industry.

We’re seeing couples become more conscious of their wedding’s impact on the planet. We imagine over the next year or two that brides and grooms will make choices with longevity in mind. Rather than single-use décor items such as paper garlands and pom poms, we expect people to go down a hire route to create impact around the venue: such as with lighting options, LED letters and Neon Signs.

If you were getting married, how would you create the ultimate atmosphere in your venue?

We like to look at weddings as a collection of immersive experiences. Rather than imagining the wedding as a whole, by breaking the day into various experiences you can ensure that each individual part is perfect.

For example, for your ceremony you’d like a very different experience to your evening reception. So by tailoring your production for each part, you can create a magical, varied event from start to finish.

An aisle runner and harpist create an ethereal and magical ceremony experience. Then, in your wedding breakfast space, a twinkling fairy light canopy brings the ceiling down and provides an intimate feel to dining. Warm up-lighting that highlights the venue’s features will ensure your photographs during the meal are beautiful, and if your venue allows it, spot lights with haze will add further drama.

Finally, for the evening, it’s time to ramp up the party: a neon sign adds a fun dimension to the night, and switching your up-lighting to a vibrant party hue will transform the space from day to night. Alongside your chosen evening entertainment, providing a photo booth will ensure that even when guests aren’t dancing, the fun doesn’t stop!
