Tell us a little about yourself?
I am a professional singer and guitarist based in Farnham, Surrey. I have been a full time musician since the age of 17 (I’m 35 now) and love performing classic rock/pop/soul and blues songs to an appreciative audience. I also write my own music and front an original band as well as a busy wedding band.
How would you describe your style and what makes you unique?
Acoustic rock, pop, soul and blues. I have experience of playing all sorts of gigs, from bars to weddings to arenas and my repertoire is unlimited. I am as much in demand as a session player for my singing voice and guitar playing individually as I am for my solo acoustic sets so combine the two and you have not just an ‘act’ but the real deal. I can also write songs to spec which I have done previously for a couple.
Can couples come and see you perform live before booking you?
Of course. I play regularly in and around London and the home counties. A gig diary can be found at my website which is constantly updated.
Do you take requests?
Yes, I always reach out to the audience for requests and if they don’t have any in particular I read the audience and play songs which I think will appeal to them.
Do you have a dress code?
I usually dress smart/casual i.e. smart trousers and a smart long-sleeved shirt. I am happy to dress more formally if the couple require it though.
How long is your set?
Typically 2 hours although I have played much longer sets. Recently I played for 8 hours straight to a rather worse-for-wear England rugby team after their 6 Nations match against France!
If you were getting married, what would be your idea of ultimate entertainment?
Less is more. I would much rather have a few absolutely top quality suppliers than throw everything but the kitchen sink in! Live music is, in my opinion, a must. I have been to weddings as a guest both with and without live music and a great musician or band always takes it to the next level. So my answer would be a great musician with a huge repertoire and a head-turning voice.
